IMPACT 05/05/06

Impact was as hot as ever this week with more BIG Super Schiznit Sunday news being announced by Eric Bischoff and the men involved in the main event ballot for the pay-per-view clashing in an awesome six-man tag match.

Eric Bischoff announced to the world that at Super Schiznit Sunday the Elimination Chamber would be unleased as six of the IWF's toughest superstars would clash in a match to decide who would get the World Title Shot, against whomever may be champion, at Heat Wave. And the fans could choose just who would enter the match first, and who would be the lucky man to enter the match last! BUT he announced that superstars would have to win qualifying matches over the next couple of weeks to make it onto that match.

In qualifying action, Triple H booked his spot in the Chamber by defeating Chris Jericho in a classic battle and Jay Reso booked his spot by defeating Edge.

In the main event of the evening, Eric Bischoff forced Randy Orton to team with America's Most Wanted to take on the three men who could oppose Orton at SSS, Chris Kanyon, Dean Roberts & Kurt Angle. As you might expect though though, it was far from plain sailing. Orton made it clear he had no desire to team with AMW and their three opponents all had their minds on the fact that they were competing for the fans vote for SSS. In the end AMW finished Dean Roberts off with the "Death Sentence" as Kanyon & Angle started fighting amongst themselves.

In other matches, intereference by Christy Hemme enabled IWF newcomer Carina to defeat Alexis Laree in a non-title match. Charles Haas pinned Jeff Jarrett, but afterwards seemed upset that his former tag team partner Lance Storm hadn't been on hand to wish him luck. And Carlito got a shock pinfall victory over Kane after the monster Abyss interefered. After the match, Abyss knocked Kane out cold with the Black Hole Slam.

In other news, fans were given an update on JBL's condition. He was said to be stable, but it was now confirmed that he would have to undergo invasive neck surgery next week. The Big Gee tried to get a date with Stacy Keibler, but his efforts failed. Phil Jackson and Paul Wardle confronted Eric Bischoff and demanded that they be entered into the Elimination Chamber; Bisch said that they would have qualifying matches on next week's Warfare. And Sean O'Haire welcomed back his former tag team championship partner Mark Jindrak to IWF television.
