The wrestling world was abuzz after Super Schiznit Sunday and Matthew Mercy made his intentions pretty clear on this historic edition of Warfare.
Mercy kicked off the show with an in-ring interview where he claimed that his intereference in the main event of SSS had virtually finished Dean Roberts' career and that if Dean had the guts to show up tonight, he'd put the final full stop on it. However, as Mercy knew full well, Dean was hundreds of miles away under hospital supervision and was never going to be in attendance. Unpreturbed though, Mercy had other plans for the evening.
Later on, Dean's wife Annalise had a shot at the Women's Title against Alexis Laree and looked on the verge of taking the title...until Mercy stook his nose in. His distraction was enough for Alexis to take the win, but after the decision was one of the most shocking moments in IWF history as Mercy brutally destroyed Annalise, leaving her lying in a pool of her own blood with a suspected broken leg. We can only imagine what might happen next.
In other news, Jay Reso and Randy Orton set the scene for their World Title match at Heat Wave with a contract signing. Reso laid on the barbs thick, but he was left prone on the floor following an Orton RKO.
In matches, new World Tag Team champions Chris Kanyon & Kurt Angle continued their uneasy alliance as they defeated former champions America's Most Wanted in a brutal Steel Cage match. Kanyon & Angle continue to gel as a team, but it is clear that the mutual trust is still missing.
Chris Benoit went to a stiff no-contest with William Regal after the tough Irish bastard Finlay interfered. After the match Regal and Finlay seemed to be in cahoots and have planned the whole thing.
The night opened with new UK Champion CM Punk defeating former champion Shelton Benjamin in a great match-up. Shelts was less than pleased with yet another loss to Punk though and continued the onslaught after the bell until Colt Cabana made the save.
And in the other match of the evening, Triple H pinned Phil Jackson.
In other news, footage was shown of the Big Gee and Torrie Wilson on their date, which had seen the two grab invites to David & Victoria Beckham's World Cup Party. We also saw Canadain Cruiserweight Eric Young attack World Cruiserweight Champion Rick Shaw AGAIN before being ordered out of the arena by IWF Commissioner Eric Bischoff.
