The news that the whole world has been waiting for finally was confirmed tonight. Matthew Mercy said he was too busy in "Hollywood" doing promotion for his latest film role, but he did send a pre-taped video package where he gave the world his answer to Dean Roberts' challenge...and that answer was no! Towards the end of the show, Dean Roberts walked out to the ring and adressed the situation with the crowd, telling them that he had thought that Matthew Mercy was made of sterner stuff that that, and that he reiterated his challenge one last time. He said he would be waiting on Impact...but he didn't have to wait that long. From out of nowhere, Matthew Mercy snuck through the crowd and blindsided Dean, battering him again. As the show went off the air, Mercy stood over the bloodied Dean and said the words everyone had been waiting for..."I accept the challenge".

In the main event of the evening, Randy Orton and Peter Turner got a victory over Shawn Michaels & Jay Reso when Turner shockingly got the pin on Michaels after smashing him with the ring bell.

In other matches, Matt Morgan & Triple H advanced to a Heat Wave title shot against Chris Kanyon & Kurt Angle by defeating Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho when HHH pinned Benoit. After the match, as the losers regathered their composure they were attacked by William Regal and Finlay and did an almighty number on them.

Shelton Benjamin pinned Charles Haas in a hard-fought match-up, but he had to hold onto the ropes for the leverage to gain the three count. Barabus Lashley eased his way to a win over Rhino and Abyss pinned Phil Jackson.

In other news, new IWF Diva Krissy Vaine made quite an impression on the Big Gee, but Gee's lady friend Torrie Wilson was far from impressed and told Vaine in no uncertain terms that she should keep her hands off "her man". Colt Cabana of the Second City Saints was interviewed backstage by Sam Wyness, but he seemed unsure as to whether the team had a future or not considering CM Punk's recent singles success.
