Warfare 07/06/06

Dean Roberts and Matthew Mercy promised to be at Warfare this week, and they lived up to that promise, with a thrilling in-ring meeting chaired by George Minister. The two ignited the crowd with back and forth verbal bashing, but it all turned violent in the end. The two looked ready to leave when Mercy attacked Dean from behind, but Dean was ready and eventually, after an epic struggle, hit a Scholarship onto a Steel Chair on Mercy. Dean mockingly stood over Mercy's limp body before leaving.

In the main event of the evening we were treated to a thrilling eight man tag team match which was high class action all the way. In the end it was Peter Turner who kept his momentum going by getting a pinfall on Jay Reso, albeit after Randy Orton had clocked Reso with his World Title belt.

In other matches, Finlay pinned Chris Benoit following the interference of William Regal. After the match the two Brits continued their onslaught until referee's and security dragged them from the ring. Later in the evening, backstage interviewer Sam Wyness asked Benoit about the situation, but Benoit said he had a phone call to make.

MNM successfully defended their European Tag Team titles by defeating The Second City Saints when Nitro pinned Colt Cabana. Despite Cabana's worries, CM Punk did seem willing to fight for the team, but he couldn't help to overcome the interefence of Shelton Benjamin.

Women's Champion Alexis Laree retained her title by defeating Carina in a well-received match and Barabus Lashley defeated Rob Van Dam
